What counts as a referral

Your usual referral rewards still apply.This competition runs alongside the standard PayAngel Referral Rewards programme — it does not replace it, and it does not change how those rewards are paid.

They sign up and send
Each friend who joins with your code, verifies and makes a first transfer adds one qualifying referral to your total.
There are two ways, and you can use either or both. For Top Referrer, share your personal PayAngel referral code — the supporter card is the easiest way to do it. For Top Transactor, enter TONY in the payment reference field when you send money with PayAngel. There is no separate registration: eligible activity during the competition period is counted automatically.
What is TONY, and does it change my transfer?
TONY is the campaign reference. Typing it into the payment reference field tells us your transfer belongs to this competition. It is not a promotional, discount or fee-waiver code — it does not change the cost, the exchange rate, the speed or the terms of your transfer in any way. Please note it goes in the reference field, not the referral or promo code field.
Is it free to enter?
Yes. Entry is free beyond the ordinary use of PayAngel’s services. Creating and sharing your supporter card costs nothing, and no payment or fee is required to enter or to win. Only send money you would ordinarily send — the competition should never stretch anyone.
Who can take part?
The campaign is open to anyone aged 18 or over who holds a verified PayAngel account in their own name and sends money through PayAngel in GBP, USD, EUR, CAD or AUD. There is no residency or destination-country requirement. PayAngel staff and their households, and commercial partners issued with their own promotional codes, cannot win. Can I enter both categories?
Yes. You may take part using one PayAngel account only, but that one account can compete in both categories at the same time — and the same person may win both jerseys.
What counts as a qualifying referral?
Someone genuinely new to PayAngel who opens an account with your referral code, completes identity verification, and completes their first transfer during the competition period. There is no minimum transfer amount. Each person counts once, however many transfers they go on to make. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts and cancelled or reversed activity do not count.
What counts as a qualifying transaction?
A transfer that is sent and successfully completed during the competition period, in GBP, USD, EUR, CAD or AUD, with TONY in the payment reference field when you submit it. There is no minimum amount. Your volume is the total principal sent, excluding fees, normalised to GBP for ranking. Cancelled, failed, reversed or refunded transfers do not count, and neither does artificial or circular activity.
Where can I share my card?
You can share it on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or X. Make sure your referral code is visible. Sharing the card is how you spread your code — the referrals are what count towards the leaderboard, not likes or shares.
How will the winners be selected?
There are two winners. The Top Referrer is the participant whose referral code generates the highest number of qualifying referrals. The Top Transactor is the participant with the highest qualifying transaction volume sent with TONY in the reference field. If two people tie, the one who reached the tied total first wins. There is no judging panel and no random draw. All results are subject to validation checks before a winner is confirmed.
When will the winners be announced?
Winners will be announced by 16 October 2026 on this page and on PayAngel’s social channels, in masked format. Potential winners are contacted within 10 days of the close and have 14 days to respond.
How will the winners be contacted?
Winners are only ever contacted through an official PayAngel or campaign account, using the details on their PayAngel account. We will never ask for payment to release a prize.

Who can enter

You send money through PayAngel in GBP, USD, EUR, CAD or AUD — wherever you live, wherever you send to.
PayAngel staff, their households, and commercial partners with their own promo codes can’t win.
Winners
Winners are validated and contacted within 10 days of the close using the details on their account, and have 14 days to respond. Results are announced by 16 October 2026. Prizes are dispatched within 30 days of the winner providing their delivery address. No cash alternative; prizes are non-transferable.
What counts
A qualifying referral: someone genuinely new to PayAngel signs up with your code, verifies their identity, and completes their first transfer during the competition period. No minimum amount. Each person counts once.
A qualifying transaction: a completed transfer sent during the competition period with TONY in the reference field, in GBP, USD, EUR, CAD or AUD. No minimum amount — your total volume is calculated at the end of the competition. Fees don’t count; cancelled, failed, reversed or refunded transfers don’t count.
TONY is not a discount code. It doesn’t change your fees, rate or transfer — it simply counts your send towards the leaderboard.

No self-referrals, duplicate accounts, or artificial transactions — we check, and they don’t count. Only send what you’d normally send; the competition should never stretch anyone.
